In 2023, Grupo UNACEM, a Peruvian company specializing in cement and clinker production, acquired the cement plant in Tehachapi. California. Tehachapi Cement and Drake Cement in Arizona now form UNACEM North America’s cement division. As part of the UNACEM family, both Drake Cement and Tehachapi Cement operate under the values of social and environmental responsibility established by their parent company.
Tehachapi Cement is part of UNACEM NA, the North American branch of Peru-based UNACEM. The plant has a long history of producing Type II/V Portland cement for the Southern California market.
